Flight Software Engineer being looked for by promising Los Angeles aerospace start-up!
The Opportunity
We’re recruiting on behalf of an ambitious space systems company in Los Angeles that is developing next-generation in-space technologies. You will join as a Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and test software that will be integral to their missions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll design and implement spacecraft flight software in C/C and Python.
- You’ll develop modules for guidance, navigation, control, communications, and fault management.
- You’ll create flight software frameworks that ensure reliability in high-radiation and real-time environments.
- You’ll work with avionics and embedded engineers to integrate flight code onto spacecraft hardware.
- You’ll test your software extensively in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
- You’ll participate in mission rehearsals and have the rare opportunity to see your code run on orbit.
What You’ll Bring
- You have 2 years of experience writing and testing software for embedded or real-time systems.
- You’re fluent in C/C and comfortable with scripting in Python.
- You understand RTOS concepts and resource-constrained software design.
Bonus Points If:
- You’ve developed software for spacecraft, satellites, or other mission-critical aerospace systems.
- You’ve contributed to guidance, navigation, or control algorithms in embedded systems.
- You’ve seen your code operate in space, aviation, or other extreme environments.
