A stealth mode start-up working within the Space industry is looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer to help grow out their Hardware Team.
The team is elite with a number of ex-Space X Engineers and the work is both technically challenging and hugely rewarding.
Responsibilities
- Develop robust and reliable firmware for custom-designed hardware systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from early prototyping to final deployment.
- Take full ownership of firmware deliverables, including testing, validation, and comprehensive documentation.
- Design and implement logic and signal processing algorithms.
- Integrate and validate designs on FPGA/SoC platforms for devices operating in space environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or 2+ years of hands-on experience in FPGA development.
- Proven experience developing for FPGA platforms.
- Proficiency in VHDL and experience using the Xilinx toolchain.
- Familiarity with high-speed serial communication protocols such as GbE, PCI-E, or similar.
- Knowledge of safety-critical, high-reliability, and fault-tolerant system design.
- Strong hardware debugging skills with experience using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers (e.g., SPI, CAN, Ethernet).
- Experience developing embedded software in C/C++ or significant experience with another programming language.
