About the Role
We’re looking for an Avionics Harnessing Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and manufacture of mission-critical electrical systems for next-generation platforms. You’ll work closely with avionics, mechanical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to deliver robust wiring architectures and harness solutions for harsh-environment applications.
This is an opportunity to work on high-performance vehicle systems in a fast-moving engineering environment where reliability, quality, and speed matter.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical harnesses and cable assemblies for avionics and vehicle systems
- Produce wiring schematics, harness drawings, cable routing layouts, and interconnect documentation
- Define connector selections, backshells, shielding, grounding, and strain relief strategies
- Support system integration, troubleshooting, continuity testing, and fault isolation
- Collaborate with mechanical and avionics teams to optimize routing, installation, and maintainability
- Generate and maintain BOMs, manufacturing documentation, and configuration-controlled design data
- Support prototype builds, qualification testing, and environmental validation activities
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on harness fabrication and production readiness
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and best practices for EMC/EMI, safety, and reliability
Required Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience designing safety or mission-critical systems
- Strong understanding of wiring diagrams, cable specifications, shielding, grounding, and connector systems
- Experience with harness CAD or ECAD tools such as Capital, Zuken E3, CATIA Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar
- Knowledge of aerospace standards and documentation practices
- Hands-on experience with integration, test, and debugging of electrical systems
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DO-160, IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS50881, or MIL-spec wiring standards
- Familiarity with avionics buses such as CAN, ARINC 429, RS-422, Ethernet, or SpaceWire
- Experience supporting vehicle hardware
- Exposure to environmental testing including vibration, thermal, and EMI/EMC validation
- Previous work in regulated environments
