Software Engineer
We are working with a cutting-edge deep-tech scale-up seeking a Software Engineer to work directly on the development of systems at the very frontier of computing. They operate at the intersection of deep R&D and genuine commercial viability, with customers queueing out of the door for their next-generation product.
This is a role for someone who wants to turn theory into reality. We're not looking for researchers, but a strong curiosity for pushing the boundaries of what's technically possible is a big plus.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software using C++.

Build reliable software components and interfaces across complex systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and integrate software solutions.

Develop automated testing, debugging, and diagnostic tools.

Troubleshoot complex software issues and optimise system performance.

Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong C++ skills.

Experience with systems-level programming, distributed systems, or performance-critical applications.

Strong understanding of software design, testing, debugging, and optimisation.

Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python or other complementary programming languages.

Familiarity with Linux, operating systems, or low-level software development.
