AI Silicon | Performance Modelling | San Francisco Bay Area

A growing technology company is developing next-generation custom accelerator silicon. They are looking for an experienced Performance Modelling Architect to develop software and analytical tools that help evaluate system performance and guide engineering decisions.

The Role

You will take ownership of performance modelling tools used to assess complex computing systems and explore architectural trade-offs. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will help translate performance data into practical recommendations throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve analytical models to evaluate the performance of complex computing systems.
  • Assess system efficiency, resource utilisation and scalability across different hardware configurations.
  • Extend modelling capabilities to support a range of compute-intensive workloads.
  • Use quantitative analysis to inform architectural decisions and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop robust, maintainable Python software, with a focus on code quality, testing and long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate assumptions, interpret results and communicate technical findings.

Key Requirements

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in performance modelling, computer architecture or systems engineering.
  • Strong understanding of processor architecture, memory hierarchies, data movement and system-level performance.
  • Strong Python development skills, including software testing and maintainable code design.
  • Experience analysing complex workloads and translating results into actionable engineering insights.
