The Opportunity
A leading clean energy technology company is looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its next-generation grid-scale energy platform team in Austin.
You’ll be working across real-time embedded systems, developing firmware that sits closely alongside the hardware and power electronics. This is a hands-on role covering everything from low-level drivers and board bring-up through to system validation and control.
What You'll Get
- Ownership of complex embedded firmware across next-generation energy systems
- The opportunity to work closely with hardware, controls and power electronics engineers
- A technically deep environment where you’ll be involved from early development through to production
- Scope to influence platform architecture and mentor engineers at senior levels
- The chance to work on technology directly supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy grid
What You’ll Bring
- Strong C/C++ embedded development experience across bare-metal and RTOS environments, ideally Zephyr
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M/R, low-level drivers and hardware bring-up
- Background working with real-time/closed-loop control and embedded peripherals
- Experience taking embedded products from development through to production, with Python for testing/automation
- Functional safety experience is beneficial; Embedded Linux, Yocto, CI/CD, bootloaders or power electronics experience would be advantageous
