Los Angeles | On-site

We’re building next-generation aerospace systems for some of the most demanding missions in the world and we’re looking for a Senior or Principal Electrical Systems Engineer to own the development of the high-power electrical architecture that makes them possible.

This is a rare opportunity to take genuine technical ownership of mission-critical electrical systems, working across the full lifecycle from first principles architecture through integration, test and flight.

You’ll operate at the intersection of high-voltage power, energy storage, power electronics and complex aerospace systems, solving challenging problems where performance, reliability and weight all matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the architecture and development of complex, high-power electrical systems.
  • Define system requirements, electrical interfaces, power budgets and architecture trade studies.
  • Lead the design and integration of high-voltage and high-current power generation, conversion, storage and distribution systems.
  • Develop robust electrical protection, monitoring and fault-management strategies for mission-critical hardware.
  • Work closely with mechanical, propulsion, avionics, software and systems engineers to deliver fully integrated vehicles and subsystems.
  • Drive component selection and supplier engagement, balancing performance, reliability, mass and manufacturability.
  • Lead system integration, verification and validation activities, from bench testing through full-scale hardware test campaigns.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in the lab and on the test floor.
  • Influence engineering standards, development processes and technical direction as the organisation scales.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience developing complex electrical systems for demanding, high-consequence applications.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage/high-current power systems, power electronics, energy storage and electrical distribution.
  • Experience taking hardware from concept through detailed design, integration and test.
  • Strong systems engineering instincts — comfortable managing interfaces and making architecture-level trade-offs.
  • Hands-on engineering mindset, equally comfortable in design reviews, simulation tools, the lab and around hardware.
  • A pragmatic approach to solving difficult problems quickly without compromising engineering rigour.

A background in aerospace, defense, space, electric vehicles, motorsport, energy, industrial power or other high-performance hardware environments would be highly relevant.

Why This Role?

You’ll be joining an ambitious aerospace and defense company at a stage where individual engineers can have an outsized impact.

This isn’t a role focused on maintaining legacy systems or owning a narrow piece of a much larger machine. You’ll have the opportunity to define the architecture, make consequential technical decisions and see your work progress rapidly from concept to physical hardware.

If you want to work on high-power systems that will operate in extreme environments and support real-world missions, this is an opportunity to do it with significant ownership, pace and technical ambition.
